The Little Laws28 COMICS · 1 DOG MADE OF TOAST

You've said it eleven times. Let the comic have a turn.

You know this moment.

You explain it well. Calm voice. Good example. Somewhere around the second sentence, their eyes leave the building.

That's nobody's fault. Nobody likes being told. You didn't either.

But a kid can look at a tall boy in a fake mustache who's been hiding from his friend for five days and work out, on their own, that he could have just asked.

Read one. It's free.

This is a whole comic from the app. Tap through it.

One comic, four parts.

The comic

Four to six panels, one panel per tap. Same recurring characters on every page, so there's always somebody to laugh at.

The law

One sentence. "Annoying and wrong are two different things." It shows up after the joke, not before.

The two-minute question

Everyone answers, grown-ups first if you can stand it. There's a tip for you on how to start it without turning it into a speech.

The one-day dare

Something small to try today. Then you or your kid mark it done, and the next stop on the trail opens up.

The regulars.

They make the mistakes so nobody at your table has to go first.

It's a real app. Try it.

The demo on this page has 2 of the 28 comics. Nothing you do in it is saved.

  • A trail with your progress, synced between your devices

14-day guarantee. Ask for your money back within 14 days, no explanation needed. For kids of about 8 to 14, with an adult. The buyer and account holder must be 18 or older.

Fair questions.

What age is this for?

Roughly 8 to 14, reading with an adult. The jokes and words are simple, and there's nothing inappropriate in it. You know your kid better than we do: read the free comic above and the two in the demo, and you'll have a good idea.

What data do you collect about my child?

None on purpose. The account belongs to you, the adult. We never ask for a child's real name, email or photo. The app can store an optional nickname, and that stays on your device and isn't sent to us. Progress is saved to your account: which comics were read, which were marked done and whether a "kid" or "grown-up" tapped the button. Details are in the privacy policy.

Can my kid chat with anyone or see ads?

No. There's no chat, no ads, no way for a child to post or upload anything, and no outside links in the kid part of the app. Account and help links are in the grown-ups area, behind a small math question. That question is a speed bump, not a real lock.

Is this therapy? Will it fix a behavior problem?

No, and no. It's entertainment and family conversation. It doesn't diagnose or treat anything, and we don't promise it will change behavior. If anger or sadness is sticking around, or you're worried, please talk to your child's doctor or school counselor.

How long does one take?

The comic takes a couple of minutes, depending on how long you spend laughing at the dog. The question has a two-minute timer, if you want it. The dare happens during the day.

What do we need to use it?

A phone, tablet or computer with a browser, and an internet connection to sign in. It's a web app, so there's nothing to get from an app store. You can add it to your home screen.

Do siblings get separate progress?

Not right now. It's one trail per account. Siblings can read together, or just reread.

What if we don't like it?

Ask for your money back within 14 days of buying, from the email you bought with, and you'll get all of it. No explanation needed.

Who wrote the lessons? Is this based on research?

They're original comics, written as honest everyday advice. We don't claim they're scientifically proven or endorsed by any expert, because they aren't.

Toast has seen some things. Come see them.
