The Little Laws is a family app sold by J2 INTERNATIONAL LLC. This page says what it stores and why, in plain words.
The account belongs to the adult
The buyer and account holder must be an adult (18 or older). The adult signs in and decides whether and how a child uses the app, reading together with them. The service is not directed at collecting data from children. We do not ask for a child's real name, email, photo, birth date or location, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children.
If you think a child has given us personal information, such as by creating an account with their own email, write to us and we will delete it.
What we store about the account
- Your email and login. To sign you in and to send account messages. Passwords are handled by our login provider and we can't read them.
- Your purchase record. Email, product and status, to know whether you have access. Payment is handled by the payment processor; we don't receive your card details.
- App progress. Which comics were read, which were marked done and when, whether the "kid" or "grown-up" button was tapped, the pinned dare, and your settings (one-a-day, night mode). This is stored so it syncs between your devices.
What stays on your device
The optional nickname is stored only in the browser on that device. It is never sent to our servers. Please don't use a child's full real name. Signing out erases it.
What the app doesn't have
No ads, no chat, no way for a child to post or upload anything, no advertising pixels and no outside links in the kid part of the app. Account and help links are in the grown-ups area, behind a small math question. It's a speed bump, not a security control.
The sales page
When this product is on sale, the sales page (not the app) may use cookies and an advertising pixel to measure visits and ads. That page is meant for adults. You can block these in your browser.
Who helps us run it
We use service providers for login and database hosting, email delivery, website hosting and payment processing. They handle data only to provide those services. We do not sell your data.
How long we keep it, and your choices
We keep account data while your account exists. You can ask to access, correct or delete your data, including all progress, by emailing us from the account email. In the app, "Start the trail over" erases progress right away. If you are in the UK or EU, you can also complain to your data protection authority.
